Administrative Support Intern at WaterAid Tanzania – September 2026

WaterAid Tanzania is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Support Intern in Dar es Salaam. The intern will support the organization’s front office and administrative operations while contributing to procurement, logistics, travel coordination, and general office management.

This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in administrative support within a professional organization. The successful candidate will assist with office supplies, meetings, travel arrangements, procurement documentation, supplier coordination, and other administrative activities while promoting a professional, inclusive, and well-organized working environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a professional front desk by welcoming visitors and responding to inquiries by phone, email, or in person.
  • Route incoming calls and mail to the appropriate staff members promptly.
  • Monitor office consumables and maintain accurate supplies inventory records.
  • Promote WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and safeguarding.
  • Assist with meeting room setup and help maintain office cleanliness.
  • Support travel planning, bookings, itineraries, and other logistical arrangements for staff and guests.
  • Provide logistical support for meetings, workshops, and events.
  • Organize procurement-related documentation and assist with bid collection.
  • Assist in collecting and comparing quotations from suppliers.
  • Help prepare purchase requests and related procurement documentation.
  • Track orders and follow up with vendors to support timely deliveries.
  • Support inventory management and update stock records.
  • Assist with calendar management and meeting logistics for the Country Director.
  • Support follow-ups and tracking of action points for the Country Director.

Qualifications required:

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Management, Secretarial Studies, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of procurement and logistics coordination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Willingness to learn and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
