Quality Assurance Engineer at ALAF Limited Tanzania

ALAF Limited Tanzania is seeking a qualified Quality Assurance Engineer to support its manufacturing operations in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will help ensure that products and manufacturing processes consistently meet established quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry specifications.

The role involves monitoring production quality, conducting inspections and tests, investigating quality issues, maintaining quality documentation, and supporting continuous improvement across the plant. Candidates should have an engineering or quality-related background, experience in manufacturing or heavy industry, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor production quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Ensure production output conforms to established company and industry standards.
• Plan and conduct routine inspections and laboratory or in-line tests on raw materials, work in progress, and finished products.
• Investigate quality deviations and non-conforming products.
• Investigate customer complaints and determine the root causes of quality problems.
• Develop and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain quality records, test reports, inspection data, and other documentation required by the quality management system.
• Work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve recurring quality issues.
• Support initiatives aimed at improving process capability.
• Drive continuous improvement activities across the plant.
• Support efforts to reduce defects, rework, and waste.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry product specifications and customer requirements.
• Ensure quality activities align with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Monitor and report quality performance and identified issues to relevant teams.

Qualifications required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or a related discipline, or a degree in a quality-related field.
• Experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of quality management systems.
• Knowledge of product inspection methods and testing equipment.
• Ability to apply root-cause analysis techniques to investigate and resolve quality problems.
• Ability to apply corrective and preventive action tools.
• Good understanding of relevant industry product standards and specifications.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Good reporting and communication skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with production, maintenance, and engineering teams.
• Commitment to maintaining product quality and supporting continuous improvement.
