Officer: Performance & Risk at Road Accident Fund

The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is inviting applications for the position of Officer: Performance & Risk based in Centurion, Gauteng. This permanent opportunity is suited to a finance, supply chain, or risk professional with experience in performance and risk management, procurement, compliance, and governance.

Reporting to the Manager: Performance and Risk, the successful candidate will support the identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of risks across the procurement lifecycle. The role will also contribute to the implementation of operational, tactical, and strategic risk mitigation measures within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor the implementation of RAF and business unit risk mitigation strategies.
• Assist in developing a risk management culture across the organisation.
• Support staff training on risk management policies and practices.
• Ensure consistent application of procurement strategies, plans, frameworks, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Track and provide required information to the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA).
• Track and provide information required by Internal Audit.
• Implement effective performance and risk management activities.
• Track and provide information relating to compliance audits.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of regulatory reports.
• Contribute to the development of functional reporting systems for management, projects, and performance reporting.
• Respond to information requests and enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the maintenance of effective relationships with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related qualification.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a Performance and Risk environment.
• Experience in procurement or supply chain management within State-Owned Entities (SOEs) will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of compliance and governance principles.
• Knowledge of the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA), National Treasury supply chain regulations, and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE).
• Ability to analyse and interpret information effectively.
• Strong report-writing skills.
• Financial acumen.
• Knowledge of supply chain management systems.
• Good stakeholder relationship management skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience using the SAP procurement module and other accounting tools.
• Strong planning, organising, and coordination skills.
• Good judgement and decision-making ability.
• Strong ethical standards and personal integrity.
• Client service orientation.
