M-Pesa Payment Product Specialist at Vodacom Tanzania Plc

Vodacom Tanzania Plc is looking for a M-Pesa Payment Product Specialist to support the implementation of strategic payment collection projects across key sectors in Tanzania. The successful candidate will contribute to projects covering transportation, education, agriculture, health, and logistics, helping ensure that activities are properly planned, coordinated, and delivered according to agreed timelines, budgets, scope, and quality standards.

The role involves working closely with M-Pesa teams, clients, partners, and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities and support successful delivery. Candidates with experience in large-scale public service or revenue collection projects, particularly within the transportation sector and payment systems, are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include:

• Define project scope, objectives, governance structures, and acceptance criteria in line with business objectives.
• Contribute to detailed project plans, resource tracking, and budget monitoring.
• Coordinate communication between M-Pesa, clients, and partners.
• Ensure project updates and relevant documentation are shared with stakeholders.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support the smooth execution of assigned project activities.
• Monitor project activities and identify potential risks and issues.

• Ensure project deliverables meet defined quality, compliance, and operational standards.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience managing large-scale public service or revenue collection projects.
• Experience working in the transportation sector, including air, water, rail, buses, or related areas.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and supporting contract administration.
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
• Familiarity with payment systems and automated fare collection systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.
