Vodacom Tanzania Plc is seeking a Base Management Specialist to support the implementation of customer base management strategies aimed at increasing customer lifetime value and contributing to overall services revenue. The role focuses on developing and executing targeted programs for prepaid customers and revenue booster initiatives.
The successful candidate will use customer insights, analytics, campaigns, segmentation, and pricing initiatives to improve customer engagement, retention, usage, and average revenue per user (ARPU). The role also involves supporting M-Pesa initiatives and working with regional teams to respond to market and competitive developments.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct Customer Value Management (CVM) campaigns to improve base management KPIs, including incremental revenue, customer engagement, cross-selling, upselling, and inactivity management.
- Monitor CVM campaigns to ensure they achieve their intended objectives.
- Support day-to-day base management reporting and conduct analysis to drive customer growth initiatives.
- Plan and support Below-the-Line (BTL) SMS communications.
- Execute end-to-end campaigns covering cross-selling, upselling, and other base management initiatives.
- Prepare insightful reports on customer base activities, retention, and inactivity.
- Set up and deliver IBRO reports and campaign Return on Investment (ROI) reports.
- Monitor customer inactivity, subscriber numbers, usage, and propositions.
- Recommend appropriate actions based on customer base performance.
- Work with regional teams to develop proactive, location-specific campaigns based on competitor movements and market insights.
- Prepare and ensure successful execution of the weekly SMS communication calendar.
- Support M-Pesa initiatives aimed at increasing M-Pesa user penetration.
Qualifications and requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in Customer Value Management programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational OLTP database models.
- Knowledge of OLAP is an added advantage.
- Telecommunications experience is advantageous.
- Experience with Python or JavaScript coding is an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical and logical reasoning skills, particularly in translating consumer insights into business initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to anticipate customer, competitor, and market dynamics.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and identify opportunities for improvement.
