The opportunity is designed for an engineering graduate seeking practical mining experience through a structured three-year development programme that provides exposure to different tasks, teams, and technical areas within the mining operation.

The successful candidate will receive guidance from supervisors and mentors while developing practical skills in mine planning, data analysis, fieldwork, safety, equipment, and technical reporting. As competence develops, the graduate will take on more complex responsibilities while contributing to operational targets, safety standards, and the organization’s long-term mining plans.

Responsibilities include:

• Contribute to quality discipline service delivery and interpretation of discipline-related information within the team.
• Participate actively in training programmes covering mining processes, safety protocols, and relevant regulations.
• Collect and analyze data related to mining operations, including production metrics, ore quality, and equipment performance.
• Contribute to discipline-specific services while meeting deadlines, targets, and budget requirements.
• Prepare regular reports summarizing findings and insights for review by senior engineers and management.
• Participate in fieldwork and site visits to gain practical knowledge of mine operations.
• Support senior engineers in developing mine plans, including layout design, stope planning, and scheduling.
• Conduct inspections to understand safety protocols and identify areas for improvement.
• Assist with geotechnical assessments relating to ground stability and potential hazards.
• Gain practical experience in the operation and maintenance of mining equipment.
• Work with maintenance teams to understand equipment reliability and troubleshooting.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, project plans, and progress updates.
• Contribute to improving the organizational capability of the work team in support of the Life of Mine (LOM) Plan.
• Prepare accurate and timely data and reports on process performance.
• Work with colleagues across the business unit to maximize organizational value.
• Contribute to a safe working environment and support compliance with SHE&C plans, management systems, and processes.
• Develop and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues, business partners, and other stakeholders.
• Support the resolution of operational issues through effective stakeholder relationships.
• Stop work that is being performed unsafely and report the matter to the supervisor or safety personnel.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience gained through practical training.
• Experience using MS Office software.
• Knowledge of the relevant engineering discipline consistent with academic studies.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound and timely decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Positive attitude towards end users and team members.
