The British Council is looking for a customer-focused and results-driven professional to join its team in Tanzania as a Customer Service Officer. The role supports the effective delivery of British Council Exams and Customer Services operations while ensuring that customers receive a professional and consistent experience across different service channels.

Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality and consistent customer experience across different service channels.
- Handle customer enquiries, registrations, reception activities, and customer records according to British Council policies and service standards.
- Act as the first point of contact for customers and ensure enquiries are resolved or escalated appropriately.
- Maintain accurate customer information and CRM records.
- Support customer information sessions and manage relevant social media interactions.
- Provide customer insights that can help improve services and the overall customer journey.
- Achieve agreed sales, conversion, and income targets.
- Build strong customer relationships and manage leads from initial enquiry through registration.
- Conduct proactive customer follow-ups and identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
- Support examination services through candidate registration, payment processing, and data management.
- Assist with income reconciliation and complaint resolution.
- Coordinate with examination teams to ensure accurate and compliant service delivery.
- Perform other administrative duties assigned by management.
Qualifications Required
- Higher Diploma and/or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience working in customer service and sales.
- Good understanding of marketing and negotiation techniques.
- Strong interest in customer service and sales.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing customer needs.
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
- Customer Service Professional Qualification.
- Relevant qualification or training in Sales.
- Experience in Marketing and Communications.
- Hands-on experience using CRM software.
