Technical Officer – Maternal and Neonatal Health

• Representing the GATHER Project in regional, district, facility, and community meetings.
• Contributing to project work planning and budgeting activities.
• Ensuring programme implementation follows Jhpiego and national RMNH standards.
• Promoting the integration of reproductive, maternal, and newborn health services across implementation and reporting levels.
• Coordinating maternal and newborn health training activities with regional and district health management teams.
• Supporting performance and quality improvement activities at clinical sites.
• Strengthening the capacity of regional, district, and facility supervisors and healthcare providers through mentorship and assessments.

Qualifications Required

Applicants for the Technical Officer – Maternal and Neonatal Health position should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Medicine, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in reproductive, maternal, and newborn health programming.
• At least 5 years of experience as a classroom and clinical trainer.
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swahili.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines while working under pressure.
• Flexibility, reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
