Ramada Resort is looking for a competent and people-focused professional to join its team as an Assistant HR Manager in Zanzibar. This opportunity is suitable for an experienced HR professional who can support daily human resources operations while maintaining effective employee relations and compliance with labour requirements.

The successful candidate will assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, performance management, training, payroll preparation and employee welfare. Ramada Resort is particularly interested in candidates with generalist HR experience gained in manufacturing, FMCG, industrial or other structured working environments.

About the Role

The Assistant HR Manager will work closely with the HR Manager to support the overall Human Resources function. The position requires someone who can manage multiple HR activities, maintain accurate employee documentation and provide professional support to employees and management.

The role also involves ensuring compliance with Zanzibar and Tanzania labour laws and company HR policies. Strong communication, organization, leadership and problem-solving skills will be important for handling day-to-day employee matters effectively.

Responsibilities

The Assistant HR Manager will be responsible for:

• Supporting the HR Manager in the daily operations of the Human Resources department.
• Managing and coordinating recruitment, interviews, selection and onboarding activities.
• Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Monitoring employee attendance, leave, probation, contracts and employee movements.
• Supporting performance management and employee appraisal processes.
• Handling employee relations and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies and labour laws.
• Coordinating employee training, induction and development programmes.
• Assisting with payroll preparation and verifying employee information.
• Supporting employee welfare and engagement initiatives.
• Ensuring compliance with Zanzibar and Tanzania labour laws and company HR policies.
• Liaising with relevant government authorities on employment and HR matters.
• Preparing HR reports and providing regular updates to management.
• Supporting the implementation and improvement of HR policies and procedures.
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee matters.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
• At least 3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, industrial or other structured organizations is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Zanzibar and Tanzania labour laws and HR practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR systems.
