1,000 Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Internship Vacancies 2026 – Kenya

The Public Service Commission (PSC), on behalf of the Ministry of Education’s State Department for Basic Education, has announced 1,000 internship vacancies under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5.

The programme offers recent graduates an opportunity to gain practical workplace experience while supporting digital learning in public primary schools. Successful interns will be deployed to schools at the Sub-county level across Kenya for a 12-month non-renewable internship.

Internship Overview

The State Department for Basic Education is recruiting interns to support the implementation of the Digital Literacy Programme by strengthening e-learning, ICT integration, teacher support, and digital infrastructure in schools. Interns will also assist in maintaining ICT services and promoting the safe and ethical use of technology in education.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Graduated not earlier than 2022.
• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (ICT specialization), Bachelor’s Degree in ICT, or a Diploma in ICT or ICT Integration in Education from a recognized institution.
• Be knowledgeable in networking, infrastructure, application development, information security, and project management.
• Demonstrate the ability to integrate ICT into teaching, learning, and content development.
• Possess research and innovation skills to support the Digital Literacy Programme.
• Be willing to work full-time in any Sub-county Education Office.
• Have not previously benefited from a similar internship programme.

Responsibilities

Successful interns will:

• Support e-learning and digital content development.
• Train and assist primary school teachers in using digital learning devices.
• Support the implementation of the Digital Literacy Programme.
• Develop innovative ICT solutions to improve digital learning in schools.
• Promote the safe, secure, and ethical use of technology.
• Assist teachers with ICT integration in teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Support the development of school policies and procedures.
• Provide first-line ICT support and maintenance in schools.

Stipend and Certificate

• Interns will receive a monthly government stipend at the rate determined by the State Department.
• A Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the 12-month internship.
