Performance Engineer at Vodacom Tanzania Plc (2-Year Contract)

Vodacom Tanzania Plc is inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Performance Engineer based in Dar es Salaam. This is a two-year contract opportunity for candidates with a strong background in telecommunications, radio network performance, and network quality management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and improving end-to-end network performance across modernized and swapped sites, ensuring KPI targets are achieved, reviewing site acceptance reports, and supporting both regulatory and internal network performance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop KPI trackers for all radio network elements.
• Ensure network features are implemented according to engineering best practices.
• Manage end-to-end network incidents, outages, and KPI degradation with proper root cause analysis.
• Identify network quality gaps and coordinate improvements with project teams.
• Work closely with engineering and operations teams to deliver expected network performance.
• Review Single Site Verification (SSV) reports during site acceptance.
• Conduct RAN parameter audits and KPI performance reconciliation.
• Prepare regulatory and group network performance reports.
• Monitor cluster drive results and ensure EPOCA KPI targets are achieved.
• Support continuous improvement of network quality and operational performance.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry.
• Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills.
• Excellent programming and data analysis skills.
• Experience in radio network performance and KPI management.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to detect network faults proactively and manage customer-related issues.
• Knowledge of cloud computing and big data will be an added advantage.
• Project management experience is desirable.
