FTTX Insight & Reporting Engineer at Vodacom Tanzania Plc

Vodacom Tanzania Plc is seeking a skilled FTTX Insight & Reporting Engineer to join its team in Dar es Salaam. This full-time opportunity is ideal for professionals with experience in telecommunications service assurance, broadband performance management, and data analytics within FTTX and GPON environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering end-to-end service assurance analytics, monitoring network performance, generating operational insights, and improving customer experience across Vodacom’s FTTX ecosystem. The role works closely with engineering, customer care, IP core, and IT teams to ensure reliable broadband service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ONTs, OLTs, GPON networks, BNGs, and customer service platforms using OSS, NMS, and analytics tools.
• Track service performance and customer experience KPIs across the FTTX network.
• Identify, correlate, and escalate service-impacting events and network performance degradation.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and executive FTTX performance reports.
• Develop dashboards, scorecards, and trend analysis reports for operational and management teams.
• Investigate recurring customer issues, congestion, and major service incidents through root cause analysis.
• Analyze capacity utilization and identify network bottlenecks affecting customer experience.
• Develop automated reports and dashboards using business intelligence and analytics platforms.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of operational performance data.
• Collaborate with CSOC, Access Network, IP Core, Customer Care, IT, and Engineering teams.
• Support governance meetings with service performance insights, risks, and improvement recommendations.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in telecommunications service assurance, network performance management, broadband operations, customer experience analytics, or reporting.
• Strong understanding of FTTX and GPON architectures, including ONTs, OLTs, BNG, AAA, OSS, and NMS platforms.
• Proven experience in KPI management, performance reporting, trend analysis, and service assurance analytics.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Excel, or equivalent analytics tools.
• Knowledge of Python will be an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional certifications in Data Analytics, Power BI, SQL, Networking, Telecommunications, or Business Intelligence are advantageous.
