Responsibilities

  • Conduct periodic reviews of the credit portfolio and identify emerging risks.
  • Monitor early warning signals and changes in credit exposures.
  • Monitor portfolio quality, delinquency trends, concentrations, and migration patterns.
  • Support the appropriate classification of credit facilities.
  • Assess the adequacy of credit provisions.
  • Review compliance with credit policies, regulatory requirements, and approved credit standards.
  • Assess underwriting controls and collateral management practices.
  • Conduct stress testing and vintage analysis.
  • Perform portfolio analytics to identify credit risk trends.
  • Prepare credit risk reports for management and relevant committees.
  • Prepare reports required for regulatory purposes.
  • Escalate significant credit risk concerns to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Recommend remedial actions for identified credit risk issues.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Assist with regulatory reviews and examinations.
  • Participate in risk management projects and related initiatives.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in banking, risk management, audit, finance, or credit-related functions.
  • Understanding of credit risk management principles and banking operations.
  • Knowledge of Bank of Tanzania (BOT) prudential regulations and risk governance requirements.
  • Understanding of portfolio monitoring and credit provisioning.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 9 concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and prepare clear reports and dashboards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and report-writing abilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong integrity.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Professional certification in Risk Management, Banking, Accounting, or Audit is an added advantage.
