Dangote Industries Limited is inviting applications from qualified and experienced legal professionals for the position of Legal Officer. This full-time opportunity is based in Mtwara and offers the chance to support the legal and compliance operations of one of Africa's leading manufacturing companies.

The successful candidate will provide legal and regulatory support for Dangote's cement business in Tanzania, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, managing contracts, supporting corporate governance, and assisting with dispute resolution across the business.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on Tanzanian corporate, labour, environmental, and mining laws.
• Monitor compliance with local and regional regulatory requirements.
• Support implementation of group-wide compliance initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, service agreements, and MoUs.
• Maintain the contract database and monitor contract renewals.
• Liaise with BRELA, Tanzania Revenue Authority, and other regulatory authorities.
• Maintain statutory records and support corporate governance activities.
• Assist with labour, commercial, and environmental dispute management.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel and monitor litigation matters.
• Prepare board resolutions, minutes, and compliance reports.
• Collaborate with legal teams across Pan-African jurisdictions on regional projects.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B).
• Admission to the Bar in Tanzania.
• Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial law.
• Experience in the manufacturing or extractive sector is preferred.
• Experience with multinational or Pan-African organizations is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian corporate, labour, and environmental legislation.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• High level of integrity and professional ethics.
• Fluency in both Swahili and English.
