Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, licences, and permits.
• Maintain the Legal and Regulatory Compliance Register.
• Ensure timely renewal of permits and regulatory approvals.
• Draft, review, and manage contracts and commercial agreements.
• Monitor contractual obligations and ensure compliance.
• Ensure legal compliance relating to plant operations, mining, environmental, safety, and labour matters.
• Track litigation, legal claims, and disputes in collaboration with external advocates.
• Liaise with government institutions and regulatory authorities.
• Support corporate governance activities and Board matters.
• Maintain statutory records and legal documentation.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
• Graduate of the Law School of Tanzania.
• 2–3 years of relevant legal and compliance experience.
• Experience in the cement, manufacturing, mining, or energy sector is preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
• Strong knowledge of statutory, environmental, mining, safety, and labour regulations.
• Ability to draft, review, and monitor contractual agreements.
• High integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and organizational skills.
