Waliochaguliwa Kujiunga Vyuo Vikuu 2026: TCU Multiple Selection za Vyuo 2026-27

The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) wishes to inform the public that the First Round of undergraduate admissions to higher education institutions in Tanzania for the 2026/2027 academic year has been completed. The names of admitted students are being announced by the respective universities and higher education institutions.

During this round, a total of 149,645 applicants applied for admission to 93 approved institutions authorized to admit students into undergraduate programmes.

For the 2026/2027 academic year, there are a total of 1,019 academic programmes, compared with 894 programmes in 2025/2026, representing an increase of 125 programmes.

In terms of available admission places, there are a total of 227,555 places, compared with 205,652 places in the previous year. This represents an increase of 21,903 places, equivalent to 10.7%, in undergraduate programmes.

Furthermore, during the First Round of admissions, a total of 117,334 applicants, equivalent to 78.4% of all applicants, have been admitted to the institutions they applied to. The number of applicants admitted and those who will ultimately enroll is expected to increase during the Second Round of admissions.

2.0 APPLICANTS ADMITTED TO MORE THAN ONE INSTITUTION

Applicants who have been admitted to more than one institution are required to confirm their admission at one institution starting today, 8 September, through 21 September 2026.

The confirmation is done using a special secret code sent by SMS to the phone number or email address that the applicant used when applying for admission.

Applicants who do not receive the message containing the code in time are advised to log into the admission systems of the institutions where they have been admitted and request that the SMS containing the special secret code be resent so that they can complete their confirmation at the respective institution.

In addition, admission confirmation must be completed through the account that the applicant used when applying for admission.

3.0 OPENING OF THE SECOND ROUND OF ADMISSIONS FOR 2026/2027

The Commission announces that the Second Round of undergraduate admissions for the 2026/2027 academic year has started today, 8 September, and will run until 21 September 2026.

The Commission urges applicants who were unable to submit admission applications or who were unable to secure admission during the First Round for various reasons to make good use of this opportunity by submitting their applications to the institutions of their choice.

The Commission directs higher education institutions in the country to announce the programmes that still have available places.

Applicants and higher education institutions are required to follow the procedures for the Second Round of admissions as outlined in the admission calendar available on the TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz).

4.0 APPEAL TO ADMISSION APPLICANTS

Applicants for undergraduate programmes are reminded that all matters relating to admission or confirmation of admission at one institution should be submitted directly to the respective institution.

For applicants who experience difficulties with the confirmation process, all institutions have been instructed to receive their complaints or reports and seek a prompt solution in accordance with the established guidelines and procedures.
