Africa Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships Manager at HelpAge International – September 2026

HelpAge International is inviting applications for the position of Africa Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships Manager to support the successful delivery of the Africa Ageing Conference and strengthen regional fundraising and strategic partnerships across Africa. This contract-based role is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The successful candidate will lead donor cultivation, sponsorship development, partnership engagement, and funding pipeline management while working closely with regional, technical, finance, communications, and fundraising teams. The role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced resource mobilisation professional to contribute to high-level regional initiatives with long-term impact.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead the implementation of the Africa Ageing Conference resource mobilisation and partnership strategy.
• Develop and maintain a prioritised funding, sponsorship, and in-kind opportunity pipeline.
• Prepare investment cases, concept notes, proposals, sponsorship packages, and pitch materials.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with donors, sponsors, foundations, and strategic partners.
• Progress funding opportunities from research and engagement through proposal development and stewardship.
• Represent HelpAge in approved meetings and present funding propositions to external stakeholders.
• Identify partnership opportunities aligned with the Africa Plan and organisational priorities.
• Coordinate fundraising activities with conference planning and regional coordination teams.
• Support stewardship of conference funders and identify long-term partnership opportunities.
• Collaborate with fundraising, finance, communications, and technical teams during proposal development.
• Coordinate due diligence, risk assessment, and approval processes for partnership opportunities.
• Maintain accurate funding pipeline records and prepare regular progress reports.
• Contribute to wider resource mobilisation priorities emerging from the Africa Coordination Mechanism.
• Identify emerging funding opportunities and recommend their strategic value.

Qualifications required:

• Degree in International Development, Fundraising, Business Development, Public Policy, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Substantial experience in fundraising, strategic partnerships, sponsorship, donor engagement, or business development.
• Proven experience developing and managing funding or sponsorship pipelines.
• Experience supporting major conferences, campaigns, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Strong proposal writing and investment proposition development skills.
• Excellent prospect research and donor analysis abilities.
• Demonstrated experience engaging senior donors and external stakeholders independently.
• Experience working with civil society networks, regional platforms, or membership organisations.
• Strong coordination, communication, and information management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across different countries and cultures.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Knowledge of African Union, Regional Economic Communities, or UN coordination structures is an advantage.
• Experience securing funding from institutional donors, foundations, trusts, or corporate partners in Africa is desirable.
• French, Portuguese, or Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
