Data Analyst at Kenya Airways PLC

Kenya Airways PLC is seeking a skilled and analytical professional to join its team as a Data Analyst. Reporting to the Manager – Analytics, the successful candidate will serve as an analytics specialist, managing data from different sources and providing reliable, data-driven insights to support business decisions and departmental objectives.

The role requires strong analytical and technical capabilities, with practical experience in SQL, Excel, statistical methods, and data visualization. The successful candidate will work with business stakeholders and analysts to identify trends, improve data quality, support automation initiatives, and translate raw information into actionable business strategies.

Responsibilities include:

• Analyse business data and provide management, departmental heads, and stakeholders with information that supports business objectives.
• Identify, analyse, and interpret trends and patterns within complex data sets.
• Generate insights that help the business develop appropriate courses of action.
• Audit system data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective duplication management.
• Collaborate with business analysts to identify opportunities for process automation.
• Support improvements in data management and reporting processes.
• Promote continuous improvement within the analytics team to enhance efficiency, service delivery, and accuracy.
• Maintain full adherence to company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
• Participate in project execution and ensure project scope is understood and delivered within agreed timelines and service specifications.
• Ensure audit issues are closed within the quarter in which they are identified or within the agreed timelines, whichever is shorter.
• Maintain strong relationships and communication with stakeholders to support customer satisfaction and address concerns effectively.
• Maintain up-to-date competency assessments and development plans.

Qualifications required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
• At least three (3) years of relevant data-related business experience in a busy or commercial environment.
• Proven ability to understand business requirements and derive meaningful insights from raw data and analysis.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Proven experience working with at least one major database platform such as DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or an equivalent system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of statistical methods.
• Experience with Power BI is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Python is an added advantage.
• IT management certification such as ITIL is an added advantage.
• Ability to think creatively and demonstrate strong self-motivation.
• Strategic perspective with the ability to analyse complex issues, develop appropriate action plans, and deliver results.
• Ability to synthesise and analyse diverse data and information and recommend appropriate strategies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
