Computer Science Teacher – Arusha Meru International School

Arusha Meru International School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to join its team in Arusha. The successful candidate will teach Computer Science to students following the Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level curriculum, helping learners develop strong programming, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills.

The position is suitable for a qualified teacher with experience delivering Cambridge Computer Science programmes and preparing students for Cambridge examinations. The successful candidate will also contribute to classroom management, student progress assessment, departmental activities, and the wider life of the school.

Responsibilities include:

• Teach Computer Science to Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level students in line with the Cambridge International curriculum.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that develop programming, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Prepare students for Cambridge examinations, including coursework and practical assessment requirements.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress while providing feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through departmental planning and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Recognized teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level Computer Science.
• Strong programming, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience preparing students for Cambridge examinations.
• Good classroom management and communication skills.
• Cambridge training or experience is highly desirable.
• Commitment to being an innovative and results-oriented teacher.
• Strong understanding of the Cambridge curriculum and examination requirements.
