The successful candidates will be responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation during official tours and field visits, while also maintaining assigned vehicles and ensuring that all vehicle records are properly updated.

BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania has operated in Tanzania since 2006, focusing on Agriculture, Youth and Women Empowerment, Food Security, and Livelihood. The organization is also implementing a Mastercard Foundation-supported programme in partnership with BRAC International to expand opportunities, skills, access to finance, and sustainable livelihoods for adolescent girls and young women across several African countries, including Tanzania.

About the Programme

The Mastercard Foundation, in partnership with BRAC International, is implementing an initiative across Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Uganda. The programme seeks to create positive and measurable opportunities for adolescent girls and young women and communities across the participating countries.

The initiative follows an integrated approach that supports young women living in poverty as they transition from adolescence to adulthood. Through the programme, participants are supported with skills, tools, access to finance, and opportunities to build productive and sustainable livelihoods.

About the Role

The Driver will provide transportation support for BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania's official activities, including tours and field visits. The position will involve operating office vehicles responsibly, coordinating travel schedules, maintaining vehicle records, supporting vehicle servicing and repairs, and ensuring that assigned vehicles remain clean and properly maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania vehicles safely and responsibly during official assignments, tours, and field visits.
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager regarding official visit and driving schedules.
• Prepare fuel requisitions and material requests for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain vehicle records and ensure logbooks and meter readings are accurately updated.
• Keep assigned vehicles clean through regular daily and weekly cleaning.
• Hand over vehicle keys to the designated officer after completing driving assignments.
• Ensure vehicles are properly parked within the office premises.
• Monitor vehicle insurance validity and ensure the required driving licence remains valid.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs and other relevant issues to the responsible officer.
• Follow organizational procedures relating to vehicle use and transportation.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment where team members are protected from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation.
• Support BRAC's safeguarding principles during official duties and programme activities.
• Promote awareness of safeguarding policies and standards.
• Follow established safeguarding reporting procedures whenever a reportable incident occurs.
• Encourage colleagues to report safeguarding concerns through the appropriate channels.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• O Level Certificate.
• NIT Grade II Driving Certificate will be an added advantage.
• Valid Driving Licence.
• At least 1 year of relevant driving experience.
• Experience working with donor-funded or NGO organizations is preferred.
• Ability to maintain accurate vehicle records and follow organizational procedures.
• Good knowledge of vehicle care and routine maintenance requirements.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with operations and programme teams.
• Responsible and reliable approach to official vehicle use.
