Responsibilities

• Drive the BRT bus safely and attentively while following approved routes, schedules, and designated stops.
• Ensure the safety of passengers, pedestrians, other road users, and public property throughout each trip.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to confirm the bus is safe and roadworthy.
• Report mechanical faults, accidents, incidents, or operational challenges immediately to the relevant supervisor.
• Maintain the bus in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition during daily operations.
• Comply with road traffic laws, BRT operational procedures, and company regulations.
• Deliver excellent customer service with courtesy, professionalism, and respect toward passengers.
• Monitor the validity of driving licences and other required driving documents, and report upcoming expiries in advance.
• Record and submit accurate trip reports, fuel or gas consumption records, and other operational information.
• Follow emergency and safety procedures during accidents, breakdowns, or other unexpected situations.
• Exercise extra caution around zebra crossings, BRT stations, and areas with high pedestrian activity.
• Work closely with supervisors, fellow drivers, and other staff to ensure efficient and safe transport services.

Qualifications Required

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

• Primary School Education
• Form Four (IV) and Form Six (VI) education
• Valid Class C Plain Driving Licence verified by the Tanzania Police Force
• PSV Certificate issued by VETA or the National Institute of Transport (NIT)
• BRT Certificate issued by the National Institute of Transport (NIT)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience driving passenger vehicles or buses
