NMB Bank Plc is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of NOC Infrastructure Specialist in Dar es Salaam. The role is responsible for proactively monitoring the Bank’s technology infrastructure, troubleshooting service incidents, and escalating complex issues to ensure reliable and continuous delivery of banking services.

The successful candidate will provide second-level support across critical infrastructure and self-service channels while working closely with development, infrastructure, and support teams. The position also involves incident management, root-cause analysis, service monitoring, reporting, automation, and maintaining the performance of systems supporting the Bank’s operations.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Development team to understand new products and systems and ensure appropriate technical support throughout the transition period.
• Provide second-level support for DSS and onboarding services.
• Support new products and systems by working closely with Development and relevant technical teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve common and basic technical issues affecting customers.
• Perform and coordinate root-cause analysis for incidents and prepare and share RCA and incident reports.
• Proactively monitor Data Centre and Disaster Recovery infrastructure, Core Banking services, Core Network, branch connectivity, ATM/POS systems, self-service channels, and power and cooling utilities.
• Conduct first-level troubleshooting, resolve issues where possible, and escalate incidents requiring higher-level technical support.
• Monitor infrastructure and services at Head Office and branches to identify issues that could affect service availability.
• Manage incidents and problems reported against self-service services and channels.
• Provide second-level support for self-service channels and ensure appropriate escalation to third-level support when required.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance statistics for services and data centre infrastructure.
• Produce service status reports and graphical performance information for management.
• Automate and consolidate manual morning health-check reports to improve monitoring efficiency.
• Support continuous service delivery by identifying issues that could degrade banking services and ensuring timely intervention.

Qualifications Required

• Knowledge of service management standards and operational baselines covering operating systems, networks, virtual environments, databases, and middleware.
• Good knowledge of networks, applications, data centre infrastructure, self-service channels, and power and cooling utility monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Experience developing applications using at least two of the following programming languages: C#/.NET, PHP, Java, or Objective-C/Swift is an added advantage.
• Experience with web application technologies, including CSS3, HTML5, jQuery, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of programming and shell scripting languages such as Java, Python, and Bash.
• Knowledge of Linux and terminal commands.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience working with different types of databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong observation and analytical abilities.
• Creative, innovative, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability and willingness to work overnight when required.
• Flexibility to work on a rotating shift basis.
