Safety Officer at CR Drilling (T) Ltd

CR Drilling (T) Ltd is seeking a qualified Safety Officer to support its operations at the North Mara (Nyamongo) site in Mara Region. The successful candidate will help ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements while promoting safe working practices among employees and contractors.

The role involves conducting safety inspections and risk assessments, monitoring workplace hazards, providing safety training, and supporting incident reporting. Candidates should have relevant occupational health and safety qualifications, practical experience in a similar role, and strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and applicable legal requirements.
• Conduct regular safety inspections across the worksite.
• Carry out risk assessments and participate in safety meetings.
• Monitor workplace hazards and ensure appropriate action is taken.
• Report hazards, incidents, and near misses in accordance with established procedures.
• Provide safety training and induction to employees and contractors.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the site.
• Support employees and contractors in understanding and following safe working practices.
• Apply appropriate safety procedures within the drilling or mining work environment.

Qualifications required:

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• Valid NEBOSH or IOSH certification is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar Safety Officer position.
• Experience in the mining or drilling industry is preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Leadership skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work effectively with employees and contractors in a site-based environment.
